If an organization’s workflow requires someone to check the patient in to confirm visit information, the reason the patient is being seen, video/audio connection, and that the patient is physically present and ready to be seen, there needs to be a way to notify the provider. When the staff member confirms the patient is truly ready, they can change the status to READY without initiating the start of a visit and then alert the provider. This saves the provider’s time and helps the provider to focus on the visit, not on any check-in procedures.
To manually switch a patient’s status to READY, follow these steps:
- Locate the patient in the Queue - their status will display ARRIVED

- At the far right of the patient row, click the ellipsis (More)

- From the options displayed, select Set as ready

The patient's status will now display Ready.

The provider will immediately see the patient's status change from ARRIVED to READY.
